well...we sort of did it....

by 3:30am, we finished eagle eyes 2 and the overture, but there's still some work to do on body parts today. currently, i'm solidifying parts / writing scores for a 4pm rehearsal with the live musicians. once paurl wakes up, he'll be speed mixing all day. we'll hit body parts tonight...so close......

1.75 done, 1.25 to go

eagle eyes 2 is FINISHED!

i just got through recording 2 violin parts and 3 viola parts (4x each!) for the orchestral overture. i've been playing since 7am. (including a couple hours for jherek bischoff's amazing orchestra show earlier this evening and excluding a 3hr movement rehearsal this afternoon). i'm about to keel, but officially done recording violin for the show so who cares.

i've given paurl the assignment of bridging the gap between a couple awkward spots in the overture with a tweaky synthy melody. he's workin on it now and hating me....

can't sleep til it's done

paurl and i have to have all of the pre-recorded music done before we can sleep tonight.

>fill out the orchestration for the overture (6:00)
>finish the breath/percussion for "body parts" (8:00)
>finish "eagle eyes 2" (:45)

can we do it?

stayed tuned...

paris' sweat shop

i recently had one of those birthday type things and being the schemer i am, tricked some friends into helping me build parts of the set by calling it my party. (in all fairness, i did call it my 'birthday work party')

and then a couple days later, some of them actually came back for a second round!

i have truly amazing people in my life, that's for damn sure. so much thanks to these amazing people and to iacoli&mcallister for letting us use their studio space.

me and loc experimenting with a mock-up attachment method for the "v-screen"

people had a surprisingly difficult time with the post-its application...it seems i summoned every orderly control freak in my life for this task - and that's coming from a totally neurotic obsessive/compulsive control freak.

loc and day had to school everyone on the post-its application system
(there's even a video)

the tulle painting station

me and paurl, hard at work. seriously.

to the left, we have our post-its application station

loc, ezra, paurl, and adam are scheming a hanging method for the visqueen layers
(really, i think adam's just standing there)*

gus and a very happy edward, gluing post-its

a sick beth who got out of bed to come help out, my awesome neighbor, karla, and the friend she literally tricked into coming by not mentioning the "work" part of said birthday party

adam, thinking way too hard about gluing post-its. his brain short circuits when there isn't perfect order. by the end of the night, he was just sitting in a chair reading the stranger. oh adam...*

jamie, the other beth, ezra, and me divising some sort of plan about something, i'm sure

my rad neighbor, karla! and i&m products in different stages of development lining the background

ezra and his 33 year old elmer's glue

paurl and me contemplating at the NWFF
(apparently, people like taking pictures of my back...??)

the set mid-install

the NWFF is showing films nightly, so we're installing as much as we can behind their screen until our full install the week of the show.
when we're done for the day, we lower the screen and our set completely disappears like it doesn't exist.
our secret little world...

my bag, sweater, and 1st (of 5) bridging wounds notebooks. each serves a different purpose. this one only has 2 pages left! i started it in august 2007. some would say that is so very virgo of me.

*disclaimer: adam is my brother and i love him

22

22 days until the show opens.

the poster has been printed and is going up around town this week! have mercy on paurl and my non-designer design...

at 8 this morning, i met with sean waple to start hashing out the program design. he's so incredible...i'm really excited to see where he takes it.

currently, i'm trying to keep the peace and make everyone happy, round up the FOUR auxiliary projectors we're going to need, find a video technician, and finish writing the 6 minute orchestral overture for the beginning animation.

stress and screens

today has been an incredibly overwhelming day in the land of bridging wounds. we had poster making/printing drama, projections/screen drama, set building drama, technical quandry overload drama.........

though, there is greatness amongst all the stress:

ezra and i had a very productive rehearsal at the film forum this afternoon, paurl and i are now commencing an all night technical mapping, music mapping, recording session, and jamie just sent me these pictures of one of the screens...

the show is in 24 days...............................

girl or teen?

today i got a call from amanda asking if in the beginning animation sequence the girl should be a girl or a teenager - meaning, should her silhouette have boobs?

i said yes. she should.

i live a life where i get calls about whether or not the girl in the animation should have boobs. um, pretty much the greatest thing ever.
